Social Media Marketing is like any other marketing in that it is an implementation of communication psychology. The more you know about the psychology, the better results you can get.
Earlier in my own career, I was a typical copywriter. I worked for agencies and on the corporate side. I was always frustrated by how little information I was given about the target market. That's when I went back to the university and got my degree in psychology. I've continued to study the psychology of communication ever since. That was in 1991, and what I've learned through the years is truly remarkable.
For example - as a copywriter or marketer:
- How would you like to have an in-depth psych profile of your target market?
- How would you like to know the most effective logic to use?
- How would you like to know the specific words, phrases and linguistic structures that your target market is most apt to respond to?
